The Count

A web-based video series from The Appeal about protecting the integrity of the 2020 presidential election.

Background

The Count is a web-based video series from The Appeal and Now This about the threats to the 2020 presidential election. The series is intended to demystify the inner workings of our electoral system and explain what regular people can do to protect the Republic from Trump's autocratic ambitions. Episodes feature conversations with activists and experts as well as short explainers.

Setting the stage

Hyperakt created the branding and bumper animation for the daily streaming talk show. Capturing the disjointed and jarring mood of the nation leading up to one of the most controversial elections in our nation's history, the tone of the intro foreshadowed the tension and violence that followed the elections in January of 2021.

An orange poster with white and black text. It features a grayscale image of a courthouse partially covered by a black paint stroke. Title: "DEMYISTIFYING THE INNER WORKINGS OF OUR ELECTORAL SYSTEM."
