He/Him

Deroy Peraza leads with empathy, experience, humility, and heart. He is a founding partner at Hyperakt, a branding studio that works with nonprofits and foundations, including the Ford Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the New York Community Trust, to find the clarity and courage they need to claim their place in the world. Throughout his career, spanning over two decades, Deroy has forged a commitment to building brands that resonate and influence change.

Nonprofit leaders appreciate that Deroy and his team bring patience, respect, and strategic thinking to every engagement. Through close collaboration, Deroy helps organizations reconnect with their missions, generate pride among their people, and realize their full potential. He regularly writes about the challenges facing nonprofits and the power of branding to unlock opportunity.

Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Deroy is the product of two ideological extremes. His upbringing made him both idealistic and pragmatic, able to navigate conflicting points of view. He’s passionate about soccer, music, and architecture—and the creative and strategic processes behind each of them. He lives with his wife and three kids in Brooklyn.
