Ave Carrillo is Senior Producer for the New Yorker Radio Hour hosted by magazine's editor David Remnick. There, she oversees a team of producers and sound designers to create a weekly program in collaboration with writers and editors of The New Yorker to produce in-depth stories and commentary on politics, international affairs, popular culture and the arts, along with a bit of humor.
Previously, she was a producer at Psyop and The Mill specializing in design, 2D & 3D animation with clients such as Beck's, Coca-Cola, JBL, Samsung among others. At Psyop, she co-founded the Establishment for the Greater Good (EGG), an artist residency program that created work to highlight social causes for no or low cost to clients.
Ave began her career in radio in 1999 as a producer and cultural reporter for PRI’s Peabody award winning program Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen, PRI's Fair Game, WQXR, NPR's Jazz From Lincoln Center, The New Yorker podcasts, Metropolitan Opera and more.
