We recently created an infographic for the
Drug Policy Alliance that highlights the compelling case to be made for federal funding syringe exchange programs across the US. Despite numerous studies and thorough research that found that access to sterile syringe drastically reduces HIV/AIDS prevalence (due to sharing needles), Congress reinstated a ban on federal assistance for syringe access programs.
The Drug Policy Alliance is advocating for overturning this ban, and the infographic has been spreading virally through Facebook and news sources. DPA has been making its case this week at the International AIDS Conference in Washington, DC this week. They handed out 1000 rally signs, and got arrested for civil disobedience in front of the White House (see media coverage
here).
