As a Producer at Hyperakt, Laura Jo relies on her ability to switch seamlessly between left- and right-brain thinking. She brings structure to creative teams, empowering them to craft their most innovative work.
After spending two years writing grammar textbooks in Chicago, Laura Jo (or LJ as we call her) moved to New York to earn her MFA in Poetry from The New School. Following a plethora of craigslist jobs, including barista, fashion assistant, nanny, copywriter, and freelance analyst, Laura Jo made her way to Juilliard to run the Writing Center and support the Liberal Arts Department. She honed her management skills in the advertising industry before switching gears into ed tech at General Assembly, where she built and scaled their online course offerings. At GA, she learned rudimentary front-end development skills and built a (now broken) site that explores the role of memory in Gmail.
You can often find LJ craning her neck towards the sun while reading or doing crosswords in Fort Greene park. She enjoys sitting on strangers’ brownstone stoops and perusing bookstores. She is still trying to write her book.Follow @ljooo_o
